Doreen, Casey and Sean's case
"I don't see the connection either. Maybe the vic grabbed it from her apartment when she went jogging to use as a sweat-rag?"
After Sean got back and told them the new info, Casey looked over to the others. "Should we go see what Ms. Carrigar was up to this morning?"

"Yea, I think we should."
They went back to Ms. Carrigar's house. "You do the asking," said Doreen to Casey.

Luke and Cali's Case
While Luke talked to the coroner, Cali photographed the blood. There was a large spray pattern from when the main artery in the arm had been sliced. Judging from the extent, she postulated that the victim had not been lying down when it happened. Also the blood loss was quite possibly the cause of death, but they would have to see what Sheldon said about that.
A few feet away from the general radius of the vic's blood there was another pattern. So the perp cut himself. Small droplets in a tear drop shape. He ran that way. Cali followed the trail as far as she could, photographing as she went. Then ten yards from where it started it just stopped. Must've noticed, and patched it up.
She took a few blood samples from the spray and the drops. Then she notified Luke of her findings, stating the perp probably had a good slice wound on one of his upper limbs.

Doreen, Casey and Sean's case
Casey said that she didn't want to do the questioning. "Fine, I'll do it," said Doreen.
She knocked on the door and Miss Carrigar stepped out. "Yes?" she asked. "May I help you?"
"Doreen Messer and Casey Sanders; we're with the New York crime lab. We're here to question you about your friend."
"My friend?"
"Yea. The one who died this morning."
"Oh, c'mon it."
Doreen and Casey entered the house. Miss Carrigar sat down while Doreen and Casey stood facing her.
"We're gonna ask you a few questions, aight?" said Doreen.
"Of course, sure."
"Where were you at 6.45 am this morning; the time your friend died?"
"I was still in bed; probably watching TV."
"Are you sure?"
"Of course I'm sure," said Miss Carrigar, sighing. "Look, I dunno why you keep asking questions and what use you have questioning me but unless you have a warrant, you have no business here."
She pushed them out of the house. "Good day," she said and slammed the door. Casey raised an eyebrow questioningly at Doreen.
"If it's a warrant she wants, it's a warrant she'll get," said Doreen.

Luke and Cali's Case
After going back to the lab to drop off blood samples at DNA, Cali got the tox results from the arm and the body: no heroin. So the drug residue on the fragment in the tree came from someone else.
Moving on she reconstructed the shattered necklace and found that the fragment was indeed from this necklace. She swabbed the glass for skin cells and pulled some blonde hairs not matching the victim off the cord.
After a quick lunch break she took those samples to DNA just as her previous results were finished.
"So there were definitely two blood contributions at the scene," she said eyeing the report.
"Can you run this," she handed over the hair and skin, "against these results for me? I'll be in touch."

Timothy and Luke Versteeg were in the morgue. "Is this Claire?" "Yes, she is." Since Cali found a few blonde hairs, Luke wondered if it could be anyone in the cult. "Timothy, could you provide me with a list of pictures from the Genisho group?" "We find pictures irrelevant. But...I did make a list of characteristics."" "Could you give it to me." Timothy, grey haired himself, thought for just a second and then agreed.
Luke and Cali met in the break room. "The coroner found multiple bruisings on the victims upperarms and legs. They are on very distinct places, maybe also a tradition from the ancient Genisho days?"

Doreen, Casey and Sean's case
Casey came into the lab, where Doreen was at. "Hey, I got a warrant for Ms. Carrigar from Flack. He thought she was hiding something too. You want to go back there now?"
Doreen said sure, why not.
They arrived back at Ms. Carrigar's house and Casey knocked on the door. "Ms. Carrigar, we have a warrant to search your house." Casey said when she opened the door.

Ms. Carrigar had a look of defeat on her face. She sighed as she opened the door wider to let in the 2 CSIs.
"Just - don't take a lot of time. I have visitors coming soon," she said.
"Your best friend dies and all you can think about is having visitors over?" said Doreen. "We can take our time with this till we find something."
Doreen and Casey searched the area. The room was very neat. Doreen stopped to examine a framed picture of Ms. Carrigar and the victim.
"How long have you and the vic been best friends?" she asked her.
"Since high school."
Doreen nodded as she continued searching the room. Suddenly Casey called her to the bedroom.
"What? What is it?" Doreen asked.

"I think I may have found something important." she said, holding up a purple rag. "Look familiar?"
She laid it on the bed and looked over it.

Luke Versteeg decided to hit the net and Googled the word Genisho. Surprisingly, there were quite some hits. "Why didn't I hear about this before?"
One site said: "Genisho is one of the most dangerous believe s there is. It involves battle, torture and even cultural sacrifices." The people that got sacrificed were always women, who got beaten up heavily first, so Luke read.

Doreen, Casey and Sean's case
"The purple rug. And this part here looks as if it's been torn," said Doreen. "Good work, Casey."
Using latex gloves, she brought the rug over to Miss Carrigar.
"What?" she asked, obviously looking annoyed.
"Miss, we found the same rug, torn, used to suffocate your friend. Care to explain?" asked Doreen, raising an eyebrow,
"Could have been a coincidence. We both bought the same rug."
Doreen and Casey explained looks. "Look, we're gonna bring this back to the lab to compare it with the torn piece of rug. If it matches, you have a hell of a lot of explaining to do."
"Fina, fine. Just go. My guests are here already."
She pushed Doreen and Casey out of the house. Indeed, there was a group of young ladies making their way to Miss Carrigar's house.
"C'mon, we better get this back to the lab."

Luke and Cali's case
"I know." Luke brought his hands to his face. "But this still doesn't give us much. Timothy claims he doesn't know any people who still do crazy stuff like this."
Cali pointed at a few messages that were left behind on the site's messageboard. It stated: "Hey, these sacrifices are awesome, man! When I saw that chick without her arm, whooh..It gave me such a kick."
"Now that's something.", Luke said. He looked up who posted the message. His name was Robbie. "Robbie...it might be a nickname, but let's ask Timothy if he has a Robbie in his group."
"I don't know a Robbie, but I do have a Robert in my group. He's the youngest, it's great that people that age feel so open about Genisho.", Timothy said. "Well, a little too open, I think.", Luke said, standing next to Cali.

Doreen, Casey and Sean's case
When they got back to the lab, Casey examined both the rags together. After a few minutes, she called Doreen over.
"We have a match," she grinned. "I'll call Flack to bring her to interogation."
In the interogation room, Casey stood in front of Ms. Carrigar, her hands on her hips. "You sure as hell have a lot of explaining to do. The rug pieces matched."
"Okay, maybe they do. So what?"
"Why was a piece of your rug found at the crime scene?"
"I already told you. I don't know. Maybe she came over when I wasn't home and tore it. It's your job to find out things like this."

"Yea like that's a coincidence," said Doreen, folding her arms. "We can do it the hard way or the easy way. The easy way; you cooperate with us and we'll loosen the sentence."
"And the hard way?"
"You keep lying and we'll just be a bunch of nosy pests."
"Look, Detective Messer and Detective Sanders, I don't see where this is leading. Why would I want to kill my best friend?"
"Issac."
"Excuse me?"
"I've done some research on your relationship with the vic and according to your friends, you used to be in a relationship with this Issac Galey. Then he left. or should I say dumped, you for your best friend."
Ms. Carrigar flipped her hair over her shoulder. "I forgave Isaac. We're cool with it now."
"Apparently not. Isaac filed an order against you; saying that you stalked him and followed him everywhere. You have been ordered by court to stay 100 feet away from Isaac as well as the vic."
"They've dropped the charges after I issued them a public apology."
"Is that so? Then why is your rug at the crime scene?"
Ms. Carrigar slammed her hands on the table in frustration. "You're just winding everyhting up! I told you; I don't know how it got there. She could have taken it by mistake."
"And how can you clarify that?"
"She needed the rug to wipe the table."
"Excuse me?"
"She was over at my house. We had tea. She accidently spilled coffee all over my table. She offered to clean it up. She took any pice of cloth she can see and used it to wipe the table. She must have accidently put the rup into her bag."
Suddenly one of the lab technicians tapped on the glass and signalled Doreen to come over.
"You wait here," she told Ms. Carrigar.
"Detective Messer?" said the lab technician, Larry.
"Yes?"
"The unidentified substence on the rug? Coffee."
"Coffee?"
"Yes."
"I see. Thank you."
Larry nodded and walked away. Doreen called Casey to come to her. "Well, looks like she's telling the truth," she said. "She only used the rug to wipe the coffee."
