CSI: NY has nearly completed it's first season. What are you thoughts? Was it good, bad and most important, why?
The show has really grown on me. I liked it much better than Miami on the start but still had a hard time getting used to it, the new characters, the new city. I liked the darker setting actually, I don't know, guess I'm more of a dark person. I was still not sure whether to keep following it or not. Around ep 1x09 (Officer Blue) it turned and from then it only got better.
I like Mac too. I never liked Horatio (don't think that is that much of a secret) but Mac, well in time I might like him more than Grissom. Mac is no gunslinging cowboy like Horatio, but he can stand his ground, in contrast to Grissom. He is also far better with people.
I liked Stella a lot in the last ep (1x21). I never really got into her character before, she simply was there, using up screentime but until last ep I never really noticed her.
Danny and Aiden are cute together. Definitely no ship material though, they are more like brother and sister.
Flack also stood out in the last episode. As a Detective I thought he would side with the police officers but he stood up for Danny and even tried to encourage him later and give him some heads up. Danny was perhaps not realizing people were actually trying to help him.
And what about Hawkes? I love that guy, last ep he was wonderfull.
The show has definitely potential. It will never grow beyond the original but it has passed Miami by far. Yes, starting CSI: NY was a good move in the end, but it should stay with that. No more CSI spinoffs for a while.

CSI NY is definitly one of my faves. I don't watch Miami, it never appealed to me. All the previews show Horatio with his gun out, never really doing anything usefull. Miami just seemed too action for me.
NY, with it's darker settings and way cool Corner (The guy crawled out of a box once.. that was awesome!), has really become a regular for me.
Throughout the season, different characters have been opened up. We've seen what parts of them are hidden, and what parts they share, but the episodes produce this information without giving too much away. Still leaving the characters in a shroud of mystery.
I have to say NY is great.

I'm lovin' it! ;D I am glad they lightened up the show, everything looks more realistic. The stories have been intruiging so far, and I love the characters as well. This is the first show were I like all of them I think. I didn't like Stella in the beginning, but she really grew on me. Danny and Aiden are both great. Hawkes is very cool, so is Flack. Mac is very interesting. Something which I didn't expect is that he didn't really have Danny's back in 1x21, while Grissom and Horatio always had that for their CSI's. I guess it's a good thing, cause Mac stays very objective. I have 4 favourite episodes this season: 1x03 American Dreamers, 1x09 Officer Blue, 1x12 Recycling and 1x21 On the Job. But I haven't seen one bad episode yet. CSI: NY rocks!

I was a bit put off by the darkness and the wierd case in the pilot episode and struggled to like Mac but I think NY is just as good. I still not fond of Mac and still am a fave of Horatios but the characters seem to have better chemistry, group chemistry than the others and overall has better actors and characters than Miami. Cannot stand Eric and R.I.P Speed. I hope the season 2 just as good

Hey, First; I like Grissom MUCH better dan Mac and Horatio . Why I started watching it (and a little bit loving it ...) was becease of Melina Kanakaredes (Stella Bonesera) wich played also in Providence. But, I like the show ... Greetz, SzmandaEads

I think CSI: NY is the worst of all CSI's. Because it's all so dark and the characters are just lame

It's not dark at all (except for the first 8 episodes or so), and it is probably the most lightest show to see. I get a more darker vibe from Miami (not refering to the weather here). And the characters are great.

It is definately got lighter in ood but the cases are still more bizarre and wierd, just my opinion (Til Death do us Part - the guy who chewed his hand off, Hush - half a dead guy and 'Blood, Sweat and tears - the body in the box ) but still like it and I disagree that the characters are 'Lame' I think they better - less boring and annoying than Miami; however not a patch on Las Vegas but only my opinion

I think there's no one in CSI: NY that you really like as much as you would like Sarah, Gil or Haritio. Because the characters in NY have no charisma and they never make jokes, like the characters from CSI do.

Ehm...how many episodes of NY have you seen? The characters on NY do joke. A lot! And they have more charism than the people on Miami who always seem to be depressed. I am glad that the characters on NY are mostly cheerfull.

Plus they also seem more human in NY...sometimes even more than in Vegas. No offense to the Vegas characters, I still love them and I still think the original is the best (and always will be). But Grissom...well that Grissom is not good with people we already knew, same for Sara. Nick always seems a bit like a geek. We don't see enough of Warrick's private life to judge him, any real drama goes to Catherine (like she's the only character, I think we had enough Catherine drama for now). True we finally got some more Sara but still. Don't get me started on Miami, none of the characters seem to have a personal life there, all we see is HoCaine going high noon doing SWAT's work, shooting with his 9mm pistol like a sniper. When he's off we see him sometimes with his niece which I really pity, HoCaine as uncle, poor girl. NY is better in that perspective. We have Mac who is a bit reclusive after his wife (Claire, right?) was killed but he loosens up and in the finale goes on a date. I liked Stella with the baby some eps back, was just sooo cute Danny has his own troubles, we see a little bit of Flack and learn about his past (in the ep where his old Captain screws up), even Hawkes is pretty fleshed out already. I'm not sure I would like the idea of Hawkes in the field, I love him as a coroner and his dry humour. But I guess we'll see. What about Mac's love interest btw? Some time ago I read something about Mac possibly hooking up with the British lab girl, Jane I think is her name. I guess that was dropped. Anyway, I can't wait for the second season of NY. It remains to be seen if I continue with CSI: Miami but I think I have to or I can't work on the eps of S4, not sure if I want to dare incite Aidoann's wrath.

You really have never seen a SCI: Miami ep because the characters do have a private life e.g. Haritio's mother was shot by a drug dealer when he was 17 (OK, not as much shown as in NY but it is there) and the action just fits better in a serie with Miami as a setting because Miami is a very exciting city with a lot of night life. And I really don't understand why you all hate Haritio so much
