Unfortunately I have seen every episode on Miami and sometimes I wonder why I still continue, it starts more being an obligation, like Enterprise was before I stopped watching. And Horatio, I expressed my views often, not sure if I did it here. The main problem is his attitude and his insistence of going high noon on the streets all the time. If he wants to shoot people he should go to SWAT or at least a position outside of the crimelab, but he is a CSI and even though Miami CSI's are part of the PD (like the NY ones and unlike the Vegas ones) it's still not their job to play one-man-SWAT-army. And of course we get very little glimpses into characters lives and backgrounds but they are so minimal that they can be neglected and if we see them it's usually about Horatio with his niece (I think the whole Raymond subplot is stupid, either let him be dead or don't make this stupid 'fake my death' thing) or Yelina and her son. Only a very very few times we saw something about Calleigh and her father. Most of the Miami episodes focus on explosions and gunfire though, making it one of thos dumb cop shows more than a CSI show. I guess all the funds that usually go to creative parts go to SFX here. CSI is a show about investigation and science and forensics and not about explosions and actions and shooting. I can watch dumb German cops shows for that. Yes, it's unavoidable to have gunfire every now and again or some explosion but not ALL the time, there has hardly been an ep lately when Horatio didn't fire his gun. They are overdoing it. To stay on-topic, luckily CSI: NY quickly overcame my initial doubts after the disaster that Miami was, and I grew to like it. I had expected it to be bad and uninteresting but luckily I was proven wrong

Hear hear! ;D I couldn't agree more.
I know that the people on Miami have supposed private lives as well, but the writers are so handling that wrong. The entire Raymond-plot was interesting until they made it soapy by him being alive after all, Stetler hitting Yelina and giving Madison cancer. Was this all necessary?? It's all really unbelievable. Calleigh is only shown as a pathetic girl, just as Yelina. Alexx just bothers me. NY seems to be the only CSI show with strong women. Catherine and Sara just come off as troubled as well.

I never really had a desire to watch Miami. Seeing the previews, with Horatio and his gun out all the time... it just didn't seem very CSI to me. When I started watching the original, I was quite pleased. It's a great show.
CSI: NY I began to watch because it was, well, New York. I love the show because of the characters, their all great and developing well.
Hawkes, I think I'd like to see him in the field. He's a really cool guy, and he's got a great sense of humor.

It depends what 'in the field' means. Does it means that he would like to be a CSI or that he would pick up bodies on the crime scene like Alexx and David do? I think the latter seems most likely. He didn't do this much at all and I never saw any desire from him to be a CSI himself.

He'd probably just be picking up the bodies in the field, I really couldn't see him being a full blown CSI.

I thought it was a good show. Much better than Miami, but still not as good as LV. The characters seemed to come together towards mid-season. I like shows where there is good interacting between characters. That's why I really don't like Miami as I don't think they have accomplished this.
The storylines were very good as well. I liked how they tried to keep the story involving the city of NY.

i actually quite like CSI:NY... i esp like danny and flack... aiden's lips are quite disturbing but i love her accent! at first when i watched CSI:NY i wasn't interested cos my mind was warped by CSI:Miami but CSI:NY grew on me in the end, esp with the episode when they found the circus artist guy (the one who can twist himself up) in a box. man, that was a good episode. mac is also doing a great job as a supervisor. i think he and stella will be a great couple.
Superdude--- i don't hate horatio... cos of him, now i'm addicted to CSI! don't feel bad... my aunty is like in love with him. lol.

Everybody says that about CSI:NY. You should really reconsider and watch more episodes of CSI:NY. Trust me, when I first watched it, I thought it was boring but soon after it grew on me. Like when I first watched CSI:LV and CSI:Miami, I thought it was stupid and I thought that Grissom was way annoying but after a while I loved it.

You know, some people like to judge about a show when they've seen only 5 episodes or something, or even worse, 1. So I'd like to know how many episodes you saw of NY csifanlee? Cause I can assure you something, there is nothing boring about it.

My opinion: I have seen only 4 episodes of NY because it started a month ago in Hungary but I LIKE IT. I like the amazing crimes, the situations and I like all of the characters except Aiden. But she is going to leave the team... So I can write and say only good things about it. By the way I like Horatio.

I love NY. It's the only CSI where I actually like all the characters. I think it's so much better than Miami which is definitely the worst of the 3 (that's not to say it's not good-it is, just not as good as LV and NY), all the characters are intersting and have good chemistry together And they all have some sort of history, something that you know about them that would be interesting to explore at some point. I love it. ;D
