~My first CSI:NY fan fic. May have some grammer errors but I was in a rush to type this so bear with me, ppl! If you wanna give a review, go ahead.~
*DISCLAIMER: I do not own anything in the story except for my OC, Diana Flack, and the story line.*
Diana Flack’s eyes were narrowed as she saw her older brother, Don Flack Jr., come around the corner of the building. Both siblings have the same thick, wavy black hair and light-blue eyes. Diana watched as Don grinned sheepishly at her.
“You’re late”, she said, her lips twisted to one a side of her face.
“I know, I know and I’m sorry,” apologized Don. “ I was – “
“Too caught up with Aiden?”
“Something like that.”
Diana turned away from her brother, her fingers going through her long, layered hair. “You’re always like this, since we were young.”
“Diana, I’m said I was sorry.”
“I know you are but can you at least be punctual for a change? Now that I’m a CSI and you have been a detective, it’s like I have to wait for you everyday for an hour. An hour, Don. What am I suppose to do for a whole freakin’ hour?”
Don looked up at her and smiled. “You done?”
“Arrgh!”
Diana spun on her heels and stalked off with Don catching up to her. Suddenly Diana knocked into something. She shook her head and saw that the something was a someone. A someone who made her nervous. A someone who made her legs feel like jelly everytime he looks at her. That someone was Danny Messer. With his dirty blonde hair, ice-blue eyes and charming smile, Danny was a popular among the ladies in CSI:
New York
. His boyish charm was also a hit.
“Whoa, careful,” said Danny, helping her steady herself by grabbing her by the arms.
“Thanks, Danny,” she said, smiling as he smiled back.
“Diana,” said Don. “You OK?”
“Yes, no thanks to you,” she snapped. Danny just laughed.
“Brother-sister bickering again, eh?” said Danny.
“Shut up, Messer,” said Don.
“Tell me; what did the oh-so-responsible-and-caring-big-brother Don do this time?” asked Danny, still smiling.
“This thing (“Hey”, said Don.) left me waiting for an hour here. We were suppose to go back together but he was probably kissing the lips off Aiden.”
Don’s face turned red as Danny sniggered to himself. Diana thought that Danny looked cute when he screwed up his face to snigger. She smiled at him and he smiled back. For awhile there seemed to be a connection between Diana and Danny but Don (to their dismay) broke it.
“Diana, we have to get going now. I have a Yankees game to catch with Aiden.”
“It’s cool, I gotta go now anyway,” said Danny. “See you tomorrow, you two”.
With that, Danny walked off to another direction. Diana just gazed on until he completely disappeared from view. Don was looking at Diana with a mischievous sparkle in his eye. Diana turned to look at him with a glint of annoyance.
“What?” she asked.
“You have a thing for Danny, dontcha?”
“I dunno what you’re talking about”
She turned around and walked towards the SUV car that they shared. She sat on the passenger seat while Don drived. He turned on the ignition and they were off.
“C’mon, admit it, Diana,” said Don. “You like Danny.”
“Unless you want to see Aiden tonight, you better shut up.”
“Aww; little Diana’s all grown up”, cooed Don in a baby voice. Diana couldn’t help but laugh.
“Yes, you’re right Don. I do have a thing for Danny.”
“Aha, I knew it!”
“Geez, you can tell?”
“Diana, I’m a detective and you’re working in a room full of CSIs. Of course we can tell.”
“Oh.”
“But, you see, Danny told me something. About you.”
Diana’s heart rate got faster. “He did? What did he say?”
“It’s private, Diana. He made me swear not to tell anyone.”
“Aww… Don, please?”
“No.”
They finally reached their house. Don retrieved the keys from his pockets and unlocked the door, letting the both of them in.
“Don, please tell me!”
“No can do, little sister.”
“Just a tiny bit of information?”
Don shook his head.
Diana sighed and walked up to her bedroom and took a bath. The gears in her head are now moving, trying to come up of a way to let Don tell her about that precious information. She suddenly remembered that when they were kids, Don was afraid of the boogeyman which “lived” in their room closet. A cheeky smile crept along her lips. She has her secret weapon after all.
She dried herself and dressed herself up in a pair of jeans and a tanktop. She climbed down the stairs and saw Don watching the Yankees game.
“Where’s Aiden?”
“She said that she’ll be here in 15 minutes.”
“Don, let’s make a deal.”
“Diana, I told you, I’m not gonna tell you.”
“Then I guess Aiden wants to hear about Mr. Boogeyman?”
Don’s eyes froze. Diana was clearly enjoying this moment. “Don, remember when we were kids you’d always ask Mom to check the closet to make sure that the boogeyman isn’t there? And what was that thing you brought around? Your teddy bear, Mr. Snuffles-Poo?”
“You won’t tell that to Aiden.”
“I won’t if you tell me what Danny told you about me.”
“Aww, please Diana.”
“I see Aiden all the time at work. I can tell her anytime I want. I wonder what her reaction will be like. I know you have a tough rep among the CSI and NYPD, Don. Imagine that tough guy rep you spent so many years building; gets crushed in a few minutes by yours truly. All because you didn’t tell your little sister something.”
Don sighed in defeat. “Fine, I’ll tell you.”
“Danny said that he has a crush on you too, ever since he first saw you. He has always wanted to ask you out for a date but he was shy; and scared too. Scared that because you’re my little sister and that I may beat the living crap out of him.”
“You won’t, won’t you?”
“Danny’s my best friend. If he was dating you, I’d approve straight away. I trust him with you.”
“Aww… that’s so sweet, Donny.” Diana hugged Don tightly.
“So… er… you won’t tell Aiden about my ‘problem’, right?”
“No I won’t. I’m not that mean.”
Don smiled. “Good. But promise you won’t tell Danny that I told you?
“I promise.”
A few hours later…
Diana grew bored so she decided to go to a bar for a cold drink. She grabbed her coat and the keys to the SUV. Don and Aiden were asleep in each other’s arms in front of the TV. Diana left a note for Don explaining where she’s going. She got into the car and drove to a bar. She parked her car and got into the bar.
As she drank her red wine, she saw a familiar figure walking into the bar. It was Danny. He spotted her and sat next to her.
“Hi, funny running into you here at this time.”
“Hi Danny.”
“Where’s Don?”
“Asleep with Aiden.”
Danny whistled while Diana laughed. Suddenly Danny turned to face her. His face looked serious.
“Diana, there’s something I would want to tell you for a long time.”
Instantly Diana knew that Danny was going to admit his true feelings for her. Quickly, she kissed him on the lips. She was about to pull back when Danny pulled her closer and deepened the kiss. After that, they pulled away.
“Was that what you wanted to tell me?” asked Diana, blushing.
Danny cupped her chin and brushed a few strands of hair from her face. He gently kissed her lips and said “Yes, but action speaks louder than words”.
