What Happens In Vegas...
Chapter 1
“Nobody watches the news anymore,” he muttered as he flipped through the channels. He glanced out the window again, assuring himself that her car was still there. He would never be able to forgive himself if she got away.
A police siren echoed out into the night, coming closer and closer. He watched its lights approach, followed by a black S.U.V. The vehicles parked themselves right outside.
“Oops, they found my trap,” he said, laughing. He watched as they opened the office door, and the building burst into flame. He giggled viciously. “There goes your precious crime scene.” He fashioned a mustache on his upper lip, grabbed his briefcase, and stepped out of his room. The suitcase dropped from his hand.
“My god!” he said, his voice disguised with a southern drawl. He could hear more sirens as more police and firetrucks headed to the scene. He retrieved his briefcase, made a show of steadying his nerves, and stepped towards his car, just as a policewoman reached it.
“Sir,” she said. “We can't allow you to leave.”
“But, ma'am, I've got an appointment,” he said.
“I'm sorry, but no one is being allowed to leave. Please return to your room, an officer will come to speak with you soon.” He nodded slowly, but he wasn't looking at the policewoman. His gaze was on his quarry's room, where he had just seen the shades pull back. He hid a smile and returned to his room.
He picked up the phone and dialed her room. She answered after the third ring.
“Hello, Ms. Lockhart,” he said.
“Who is this?”
“I'd be careful, Ms. Lockhart. You never know who's watching.”
“Who is this?” he lowered the phone. He heard her call out “Jesse” right before he hung up.

“C'mon, Barry, pick up!” she mumbled as she listened to the phone ring. Of course, she got the answering machine. “Hey, Barry, It's Megan. I'm in Las Vegas on a job, and I think Jesse's here/ I could really use your help, Barry.” She hung up.
.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
“This is great,” Sara said. She and Grissom were standing in front of what was once the Motel's office while Sophia, Brass, and the other officers made sure that the guests remained in their rooms.
“There's still evidence here, Sara,” Grissom said. Sara cast him an exasperated glance.
“It's a lot harder to find when we have to dig for it.”
“Is it ever really easy?” Grissom asked. He looked over at her, his eyes almost unreadable and his face grim.
“Shall we start, then?” Sara asked. Grissom nodded and they moved apart to begin snapping photographs and collecting evidence.

Barry collapsed onto his couch, glad that Earl was too engrossed with his dinner to bother him. He glanced at his answering machine and sighed when he saw the blinking light.
Barry, it's Megan, the frantic voice said. Barry shot off of the couch and grabbed his jacket. I'm in Las Vegas on a job, and I think Jesse's here..., Barry was out the door before the message finished.
He didn't bother with his car, it was too slow. Instead, he ran to star labs, hoping Tina was still there.
She was.
“Tina, we're going to Vegas.” Tina looked up as he spoke, and he watched the usual exasperated expression she wore when he rushed in unannounced change to confusion.
“Excuse me?”
“Megan's there,” Tina rolled her eyes. “Jesse's there, too.”
“Oh. Oh. But Barry, I'm not sure if I can get the time off,” Tina said, gesturing to the pile of files on her desk.
“Tina, I need you. Where the flash goes, you go.”
“Barry, you'll be fine. Your system has adjusted to your speed and-”
“But what if Jesse tries something? What if he brainwashes me again? Or something worse? He's got tons of tricks up his sleeves that we haven't seen yet.” Tina laid a hand on Barry's shoulder.
“Calm down. I'll go.” Barry gazed at her for a moment, then embraced her.
“Thank you.”
“All right, let's go. Before I change my mind.”
“I've got some calls to make first,” Barry said. Tina motioned to the phone.
