Lenchen... that's a 'diminutive' or what ever the heck it's called in english, right? You put -chen behind a word when the Dutch put -je behind a word and the English 'little' before a word, right? *Tries to sound like she pays attention at school*

exactly and my mother still calls me Lenchen although I'm grown-up (well 18 is grown-up...at least at court )... I didn't know it was -je in Denmark... Germans and Austrians do it with a -chen...like you already said... don't the English also use a -y, e.g.: Miss-y ?

my nickname saperlotje is a nickname my boyfriend gave me. It's a sweet version of you good-for-nothing-person (sound strangs i know) and my real name is Liselot (so he kept the last 3 letters . In Belguim they say it when for ex. when a child is play a trick on someone. 'sapperlot, wa steekt ge daar nu uit' => well, what tricks are you playing. I've changed the spelling a bit, thought it looked nicer saperlot then sapperlot and i put the 'je' behind it cous my boyfriend says it likes that and cous i'm not that big (1 m 69).

That's fun, I don't think we've other members from Belgium on this board.
Sapperlot? Not 'Allee' or something that like, well, most Dutch think?

I'm the first Belgium person here? Cool lolz at least i'm first in something! I've been watching csi a few years now, but only resently looked further on the net then the cbs website. And then I stumbled on to this one And Sapperlot is more creative than "Allez"

hey... I do know the world "Sapperlot!" In Austria we use it if something goes wrong more or less... it's a very, very, very mild swear-word. Or if someone is annoyed because of somebody else... things like that scorpii: wow...just found out how stupid I am... I mixed up Dutch and Danisch *hits head*

Ah, doesn't matter. In the Netherlands we don't really have a mild kind of swearword. Yeah, we do use 'shit' or 'scheisse' as a swearword and that's kind of mild but, nah, not really something like sapperlot.

I chose Calleigh because she is my second favorite of CSI: Miami. But, I still love Las Vegas too.
