Full name: Doreen Jane Valenti
Birthday: April 14 1982
Hair: Very dark brown
Eyes: Green
Height: 5 feet 6
Function: NYPD homicide detective
Heritage: Italian-American
P.O.B: Red Hook, Brooklyn, New York
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, has knowledge in Forensics and Criminology
Since switching from a CSI to a homicide detective, Doreen has been very busy with calls to crime scenes, background checks on suspects and all other manner of detective work.
Growing up on the streets of Brooklyn as a kid, Doreen has been exposed to crime at a very young age. When she was in her early teens, she got influenced by some of the local kids and spent most of her years doing things which didn't benefit her in anything. A reality check in the form of being caught in a gang fight shone some light on Doreen. Soon after that, she began picking up the pieces of her life, thanks to a very supportive big sister. Her parents are divorced due to "personal problems". She eventually managed to make it to college and majored in Criminal Justice and Forensics. While doing that, she managed to pick up a few things or so about Criminology. After graduating, she enrolled into the police academy and got into forensics. A few years later, she began questioning herself and wondered if being a forensics investigator was really her thing. After all, growing up in Brooklyn, she has seen many bad things and seen kids, like herself when she was in her teens, doing things which didn't help them at all. That was when she decided to switch from being a forensic investigator to a homicide detective. Of course, her knowledge in Forensics proved to be an advantage to her as not many homicide detectives have a huge insight into the world of forensics.
Personality-wise, Doreen's just your average New York girl and, being from Brooklyn, is tough and streetwise. Lately, she has developed feelings for the supervisor of the New York crime lab, Luke, but isn't sure if things are going out to work out between them; seeing that they're colleagues and have jobs which takes up a lot of their time.
From a street gang member to a CSI to a detective, Doreen's enjoying her life serving justice. Though the pay isn't much, she feels satisfied knowing that a criminal has been put behind bars; making New York a better and safer place.
