The man replied in a somewhat shaky voice, "Yes, Brother Irving was one of our most dedicated. He -- he missed our last meeting. I never thought that he... that he could be dead."
Brian raised an eyebrow. "He's not dead, as far as we know. All I said was that he's involved in a homicide investigation. Unless, of course, you need to tell me something."
"Oh, thank the Prophet he's not dead! I only assumed..."
Brian cut the man off. "What about the meeting before the one he missed. What happened then? What did he say and do?"
"Only Brothers and Sisters may know the happenings of our sacred meetings. I am sorry, but I can not tell you."
"No, you will tell me. You just need to choose whether you'd like to do it in your comfy desk chair, or sitting on a steel stool in an interrogation room. Sir, whatever your name is, I am not the most patient of men today. When I ask a question, I expect an honest answer."
The man paused, flustered. Then he replied, "My name is Saul Rively. I am the Justicar of the Brotherhood of the Blood Oath. I will NOT have non-believers coming into MY home, and speaking to me like that! How dare you!"
"Mr. Rively, my name is Brian Shefkowitz. I am a Crime Scene Investigator from the New York Police Department. And I am about two seconds from dragging you back, because the longer you delay, the more people are going to die. And I will take whatever measures necessary to break this information out of you. Don't even fight -- stronger men than you have -- and it's always useless. So tell me. What happened on the meeting before Mr. Irving disappeared?" Brian said, in an even, icy tone.
The man took in a deep, shaky breath, weighing his options.

Zora replied, "I was calling to tell you that the female victim's prints turned up on AFIS. The girl's name is Stephanie Iriving. I thought you may want to know."

Rhia stared at the wall in disbelief. Now she could see a sense after all. This woman must've been Mr. Irving's wife or any other relative.
"Tell me, Zora, how is she related to a special George Irving?", although she tried to speak quietly, she could feel two pairs of eyes in her back.

"Get this it's his wife. Has he mentioned her being missing or anything cause there is no reports on missing persons." Zora replied.

"Well, we're trying to find and question him. But thanks, Zora. Good work.", she hung up and turned around to face the two men.
"Well, Mr. Rively. You better think quick. One of the victim's turned out to be Mr. Irving's wife.", she said coldly to him, folding her hands across the chest.

When Zora closed her cell phone shut she sighed. What a strange case this is. She thought to herself. Shaking her head she walked back down the hall to try and find anything that might help this case be closed quickly before anymore bodies were found.

Mr. Rivley's face went pale.
"His wife? Oh no..." He said in a quiet voice.
"Oh yes," Brian shot back.
"He... he became angry at our last meeting. He had been trying to get his wife to believe, and he said nothing he did worked. He had reason to be upset... after all, the more non-believers a Brother gets to believe, the more powerful that Brother is. And it is very shameful to have a non-believer in the family."
"And?" Brian prompted, when Mr. Rively's voice trailed off.
"And... he said he received a dream, that in his dream, he was told that he was the Chosen One, and that it was his duty to rid the world of non-believers. We told him that the Chosen One was not supposed to arrive in the Mortal Realm for many years, and that we could not believe him. He stormed out at the end of the meeting, saying he would prove it to us."
Just then, a woman in a long, dark coat came into the room holding an envelope. She looked surprised to see Rhia and Brian there with Mr. Rively. She turned to Mr. Rively, and said "Brother Rively... this letter just came for you from Brother Irving."
As she made to hand it over to Mr. Rively, Brian snapped on a glove and snatched it out of her hand.
"Ms., my name is Brian Shefkowitz. I'm with the New York Crime Lab and I'm investigating a homicide case with my supervisor, Ms. Nerice, here. I suggest you sit down and tell me where you got this letter from."
Brian set the envelope down on the desk and opened his Crime Scene Kit, and began digging for his fingerprinting materials...

The woman's eyes grew big as Brian mentioned the Lab. She dropped her gaze, when it met Rively's.
"I...I was checking the post from today. We got it with a lot of other letters. Most of them want to join the Brotherhood and ask what they have to do to get in...", she stopped unsure what to say next.
Rhia smiled at her encouraging. "Miss...?"
"...Solice. Donna Solice.", the woman answered quietly.
"Yes, Miss Solice. So you didn't see anyone specific bring that letter?", Rhia asked, brows furrowed. Donna shook her head. "I'm sorry, M'am. It was delievered with the afternoon post."
"Thanks.", Rhia nodded at her friendly, then looked at Brian.

Brian, having dusted the envelope, lifted a few prints.
"My guess is we'll find three people: Ms. Solice, the post man, and Irving. But, we can run these through AFIS back at the lab. May I open it here, Rhia?"

"Of course.", Rhia nodded at him. Then she turned around again to face Donna.
"Would you be so kind as to give us your fingerprints? Then we can eliminate you as a suspect...", she said calmly.
Miss Solice froze at the word suspect, then nodded. "Of course. I'll do anything to help you."
Rhia smiled at her and started taking her fingerprints. When she had finished she shrugged her shoulders. "I'm sorry for the mess...", she pointed at the dirty fingers of Donna. "Best way to get rid of it is high proof alcohol..."
With a smile she turned around.

Brian carefully took out the letter, deciding to fingerprint it back at the lab after it can be scanned. He read it out loud:
"Brothers and Sisters,
At my last meeting I vowed to bring proof that I am the Chosen One and that the time of the Prophecy is now. You can find your proof at the old meeting-place. Behold, I, Reaper, am the Chosen One!
Brother Irving"
Brian frowned. This is was not good, not good at all. "Pray tell," Brian asked, "where is the old meeting-place?"

The men was now whiter than the wall behind him. You could see that he was torn inside, not knowing if he should co-operate.
"I...well...usually it's only allowed for the, uhm, higher members...but I think this time I will make an exception. I will lead you.", Mr. Rively said, dropping his head.
"Miss Solice? I hope it's clear that noone is to know anything about this...uhm...incident...", he added before leaving the room. His secretary nodded in response not raising her head.
Rhia and Brian followed him outside. "Mr. Rively. Could you tell us where the place is, please?", she asked inpatiently.
"No way. I said I'd make an exception in allowing you there, but you must no where the place is located. I'll drive you in a van, where you can't see a thing. And if we find a body there, you two will have to take care of it alone - no other people to assist you.", Mr. Rively had suddenly found his strenght again and he looked rather threatening. Rhia shook her head in disbelief.
"Are you telling me you get us there, but we won't know where it is?", she asked puzzled.

Brian suddenly grabbed Mr. Rively by his collar and shoved him against the wall. He brought their faces close, looking straight into his eyes, and said,
"Mr. Rively, I have been tied to a chair with a grenade held to me, I've been electrocuted, beaten, shot, and poisoned. Believe me when I say I know all kinds of great ways to break information out of a man. You are going to tell us. It's your choice how much you want it to hurt you."
Mr. Rively was shaking. Brian continued to stare into his eyes with blatant malice.
"Mr. Rively, I no longer have patience, and obviously your cult doesn't believe in morals. Torturing you will not only be easy, but liberating and fun." Brian pulled out his ALS - Rhia would recognize the alternative light source used at many crime scenes, but Brian knew it would look like some strange, sinister device to Mr. Rively.
Tears were streaming down his face. "Stop! Stop! Ok, I'll tell you..." Mr. Rively managed to whimper, his wide eyes fixated on the ALS.
Brian looked at Rhia, giving her a melancholy smile. He figured they'd talk about this later, what was important right now was the information.

Brian put his ALS back in his kit, still glaring icily at Mr. Rively.
Mr. Rively, who was breathing very heavily and sweating profusely, said, "It's at the old apple orchard off of Kohlberg and Woodberry. There's a barn on the hill, but it's padlocked. I have the key. I demand to go with you, otherwise, you will need a warrant for my key."
"Fine," Brian spat, the venom obvious in his voice. "You will be handcuffed for the duration of the transit for my safety. You will ride in my vehicle. And you will continue to cooperate."
Brian deftly cuffed and searched Mr. Rively. He placed a bunch of cult-related trinkets into a manilla bag -- pentagrams, charm bracelets, strange necklaces, and the like. He helped Mr. Rively into the back of his car. Then he pulled out his radio. "Dispatch, I will need backup to the old orchard at Kholberg and Woodberry, there is an old barn."
He turned to Rhia. "Rhia... Sheldon will definitely want to be there to see it. Why don't you call him while I drive?"

Rhia watched Brian getting the information in a very unconventional way. She was sure she must've looked a bit shocken, when he finally turned around to face her. But that was not her problem - now. Following Brian and a handcuffed Mr. Rively to the car, Rhia pulled out her mobile.
"Good thing you waited until the secretary was out of the room... but let's talk about it, when we're finished...", she whispered to Brian, when he had stored Mr. Rively in the back seat. Quickly she slipped onto the passenger's seat and dialled Sheldon's number.
"Hey, doc. We're on the way to another body. We'll need your expertise...", and she told him the way.
