Evelyn nodded "Yeah, but who is going to talk to the neighbors?" she asked.

"Pick a straw" Sam said, grinning. "I'll go have a look to see if we can get in and I'll also see if someone else forced their way into the house."

"I'd like to talk to the neighbours" Lilly said. "After all, psychology is my thing." She smiled at Evelyn. "But what do you want?"

"Okay, then I don't mind following Sam , and you must know a couple of thing about couple of the neighbors...And don't look at me like that!"noticing a n astonishing stare in Lilly's eyes "My parents live next door and I still come over here every now and then to either help out, so I always know everything about everyone. Dr.Garrison has a cat, has a spear key in the bush over there on a magnet and that's about it. The family over there 'The Cunningham's' they are one of the normal families in this neighborhood. Two kids, mother and father. They always ask Dr.Garrison to watch the children and sometimes they go to picnics or something together. And one of the also most closest people to Dr. Garrison here is Mrs. Buxton who knows him better then anyone here. When he was little the house belonged to his parents and sometimes they left him with her. If you look carefully in his eyes you still see fear when he talks to Mrs. Buxton, like he picks out the right words to say. That's about it, now is there anything else you need to know about this neighborhood?"

"See ya!" Evelyn said turning around she walked across the front yard marking where the spare key was and photographing it, and walked into the backyard when she caught up with Sam "Any luck?" she asked "Cause if there isn't we could enter through the front door with a spare key." looking at Sam's face to see what kind of expression she will find there.

Brian and Jade were musing over the weird little kama when the hairs on Brian's neck prickled. Something wasn't right... he couldn't put his finger on it, though. He looked around. The grounds were well-kept, the bushes neatly trimmed, all sorts of critters were snuffling around the side of the building, the grass was nice and green... outside, lights were flashing still, warning people to keep away while the investigation took place.
"Wait," Brian said to Jade as he looked again at the animals. "Look. They seem really occupied with what they are doing. They are not afraid of us or the flashing police lights." Jade looked over to where some raccoons, a few crows, and several squirrels were gathered at the side of the building.
"And I think that may be blood on the snout of the raccoons," Jade said. Brian looked closer and he saw it was true. The animals were licking at something bloody! No wonder he didn't see it at first, the animals were in the way!
"Rhia," Brian said on his walkie talkie, "I think you need to come see this." Turning to Jade, he said, "Come on," and walked over to the animals. The critters hardly flinched at the human presence. Brian shooed them off to see a bloody trail leading into an alley.
"Someone was dragged! You can even see some bloody handprints in the grass," Jade pointed out, as they followed the bloody trail into the alley. Brian was certainly not expecting what he found there. As a detective and CSI, he had followed his share of bloody trails, and they always led to some dead body.
But this body wasn't dead. Nor was it just any body. It was Dr. Garrison's. And he was curled up in the fetal position, his hands clutching the bloody sockets where his eyes used to be.
And this was one of the few moments where Brian could not conjure a phrase sharp enough to describe his disgust at the situation. Shocked, he knelt down to check Dr. Garrison's pulse while Jade radioed for medical help. The pulse was weak, and his skin felt cold and clammy.
"He's in shock," Brian said quietly. "And frankly, I'm shocked, too. How... Ugh!"

[OT: Brian, what a horrible thing you came up with!]
Sam walked around the house, peeking inside through the windows. It was dark inside, but the furniture seemed to be in place. She inspected the lock of every door she noticed, but none seemed to be messed with. Until she reached the backdoor. The entire lock had been removed from the door, leaving a half-moon shaped hole. The lock with a little piece of door lay on the ground. Someone had sawed around the lock to remove it. Sam turned around and looked at Evelyn. "No need to use the spare key. Could you hand me some powder and a brush? There must be fingerprints on the lock or at least on the door. Unless they wore gloves."
Evelyn handed her the powder and Sam brushed. On the lock there was indeed something that seemed like a fingerprint, on the door however they only found contours of a hand. Sam inspected the fingerprint-like-thing a little better. "Leather gloves" she concluded. "Damnit. All those crime shows on TV make the criminals smarter." She smiled and carefully entered the house, taking a big step over the mat. It was messy, but messy like someone lived here, not messy like someone had messed it all up searching for something. With big, careful steps she walked around inspecting things. "It either was someone knowing where to look for what he or she wanted or someone just taking a look" she said to Evelyn. "Check that mat for footprints. They might be able to wear gloves but it's a little harder to hide the thread of one's shoes."

Evelyn checked the mat for footprints and she saw a little drop of blood, then she saw a trail. It was practically invisible and it looked like somebody tried to clean up but didn't have enough time to wash away those 6 drops. " Sam I beg to differ. If crime shows really made criminals smarter then why this one is such an idiot? There is blood trail and it ends at...where somebody tried to clean up. Yet there's no blood outside."she took a look around the room and then looked up. Yet there was no blood on the ceiling or anywhere else for that matter.

"All right I agree. TV shows don't make criminals smarter, they just cause them to think twice. Even so, I hate it that they don't use gloves anymore. That made some cases a whole lot easier. Nowadays, it's an exception to find a crime where the criminal didn't wear gloves." Sam grabbed a q-tip and swabbed the blood, which she put on a mysterious white plastic thingy. "Definitely human" she concluded. "Okay. Let's bag a sample for the lab and see what else we can find around here." Even more carefully, she tiptoed to the adjacent room, the kitchen. "Looks like we've got some knives missing!" she called to Evelyn as she looked around, noticing the knife block. She tiptoed over to the dishwasher to check if the missing knives could be in it. All except one were now accounted for, but one missing knife didn't necessarily mean something had been done with the knife. It could very well have been a knife that Dr. Garrison didn't need or lost or got rid of over the years. Sam glanced over the countertop of the kitchen and noticed little light brown chips - woodchips. Had the one who broke in been looking for something in the drawer there? Sam opened the drawer and noticed keys, papers, cards, everything. Apparently, Dr. Garrison kept all of the important things he used daily or weekly in this drawer. Sam photographed the drawer and the woodchips before collecting the chips. She then turned back to Evelyn. "Evelyn, you know what I think? I think whoever broke in was searching for a way to get into the museum. They must have been observing Garrison for weeks if they knew where he stored the important things. And I seriously hope this blood doesn't belong to the Doctor." [OT: Brian! I get the brilliance of your post! You just produced a very good witness ]

She knelt down and pulled out a small medical kit. "It's a good thing I carry this with me." She looked at the Doctor as she put on a pair of gloves. "Sir, I'm gonna try to stop the bleeding until you can get professional help." Dr. Garrison put a hand down and she put gauze and wrapped it before he put the other hand down so she could do the same for that eye. "That should help you for now."

Brian stepped back as the EMTs arrived with the stretcher and began working on Dr. Garrison. Where the hell was Rhia? He wondered. He looked over to Dr. Garrison, who was pitifully pale, and there were dark streaks of blood running down his face and his hands were bloody from clutching his eye sockets.
"Dr. Garrison, can you hear me? Do you know who did this to you?" Brian called out. But Dr. Garrison only shivered and gave a faint whimper, like a beaten dog. Brian shook his head, and tried again. "Dr. Garrison, do you know who did this to you?" But he saw Dr. Garrison's chest start heaving faster and faster, and the EMTs pushed Brian and Jade out of the way, yelling about code blue and cardiac arrest. Brian could only look on as they worked to stop the heart attack. The poor man had been out in the cold in nothing but a long sleeve Oxford shirt and some slacks, eyeless, and who knew how long he had been in shock? Probably since his eyes were... removed.
"Jade..." Brian said slowly as the medics regained control of Dr. Garrison's vitals. "That little knife there could have been used like a scalpel, right? Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"

Lilly knocked on a door. When it opened, she saw a woman standing by the door. "Mrs. Duquesne?" Lilly asked. "Yes, that's me" The woman said. "How do you know my name?" "I work with your daughter. But that's not why I'm here ma'am." Lilly said. "Do you mind answering some questions?" "About Dr. Garrison?" Mrs. Duquesne asked. "Yes. How did you know it was about him?" "In this neighborhoud everyone knows everything about everyone." "Okay then. I assume you know he's missing then?" "Yes." "When was the last time you've seen him?" "I think it was a few days ago." "Could you be more precise?" "The day before yesterday." "Did he act strange? Out of the ordinairy?" "No not at all." "And did you hear anything from him since then? Anything? A phone call or something?" "No." "Okay thank you very much." "It's fine." Mrs. Duquesne said. "Would you say hi for my daughter for me?" she asked. "Of course. Bye!" Lilly said and walked towards the next house.

Katie arrived on the scene as well. "Sorry I'm late. Some blithering idiot thought it was needed to lecture me on the departmental clothing regulations," she said, her accent particularly strong.
