I've just bought the original CSI PC Game on Ebay (where else?) Has anyone here played it?? Obviously don't give it all away if you have. I buy PC Games once in a blue moon, so have absolutely no expectations... My last PC Game purchase was nearly 10 years ago, when I bought Civilisation and Transport Tycoon. But those games are now so old, they won't play on any of my surviving machines, so I figured it was about time to invest in a new game or two for the next 10 years... For those rare moments I get a yen to do something as mind numbing and time wasting as playing a PC game... And what better way of wasting time than pretending to be a LV CSI like Gil Grissom! H.

I have Dark Motives... I don't think thats the origional. I dono it was the only CSI game they had in walmart so i got it. I liked it. It didn't take me very long to beat, but I play those kinds of games all the time. I liked the Nancy Drew games better, and the Sherlock Holmes game. but CSI was pretty good.
But I don't like that if you play it once all the way through, you really can't play it again, because you already know the answer, then its just not as fun.

Yes, it isn't Dark Motives I bought. I don't think that was the first one, so being a logical sort I thought I would start at the beginning. I figured it might be a "play once" kind of game too. So I guess it just depends how long it takes me to solve the crime. Since I'm generally pretty bad at guessing on TV, it could take a while... I shall have to report my progress, or lack thereof... The first one's just called CSI. In comparison to Dark Motives and the Miami game, this one is pretty easy. It is nice to play though, but it can be too easy. I have three of the games, the only one I don't have is 3Dimensions of Murders 'cause I have to save some money but the games are cool. Once you play it, you just have to play until you've solved the case. I like it.

I've solved my first case! ;D Yes, the game arrived, and I went through it tonight in a couple of hours. True, it wasn't that complicated, but it was kinda fun, LOL. The animation is horrible, the characters don't look anything like the cast, but they are the real actor's voices which is nice. Apparently there are five cases to solve in all. I hope the next ones will use more of the tools as I thought that was the most interesting bit, collecting the evidence. With this case you don't get to use all the tools on the toolbar by any means. Anyway, revenge has been served deep frozen on my first bad guy. H.

Yeah, the narrator is pretty annoying, LOL. Though I figured that was mostly the American accent getting to me.
It is weird the way as a Brit, American accents don't sound odd in an all American show like CSI. On the contrary, a single British actor in an American show sounds extremely weird. But that narrator's accent was very noticeable to me.
I quite like the fact that there are all different US accents in CSI though. As a Brit, I can still hear them. Especially William Petersen's Chicago accent, and George Ead's southern drawl. George sounds like he tries to cover it up, as in the interviews of him on the DVDs it is even stronger! Personally I prefer it as he sounds in the interviews, he ought to just speak as comes naturally.

Interesting. I haven't ever played that one but I beat the CSI Miami game. I thought it was really fun but was over too quickly. Are the other CSI games over quickly as well?

Yeah, they are... well Dark Motives was... I love accents of all kinds. We had a german exchange student at our school, and her accent was amazing! And southern drawls are the best!

My bro's just bought a game...it's called three dimension murder (or something like that) and it's pretty cool. I don't think it's too hard to solve but sometimes you have to run around like a rabbit to get all the clues... you're visiting a place at least six times (so it seems to me... )

I have CSI and Dark Motives but I wasn't really impressed. The game was a little bit on the easy side, plus there is no replay value at all, those things are bummer (same with the boardgame btw, no replay value once you have done all cases), the only challenge might be getting a higher score, but you can be done with that quickly as well. If you are still interested in Transport Tycoon, it still lives. There once has been a patch called Transport Tycoon Deluxe. Based on TTD is now a new version called Open TTD which runs perfectly on Windows XP. You can download it from www.openttd.com/. It's completely free and it's highly addictive. Despite it's age, I still play it, even with friends in multiplay. There are numerous tweaks and fixes to the original and it just rocks, plus it's fairly small and thus takes up no hard disk space.

Yeah I got the miami board game and I was shocked that you really didn't need the board to play you can just buy the booster packs. And I agree it was fun but there is no replay value.

Well...I just went through all of the cases...and somehow it's the same everytime. There've always been three suspects (it wouldn't have killed them if they made it two or four sometimes...) and the way to solve the cases has also been the same. But the thing I disliked most was that sometimes you couldn't progress evidence, which was so obvoius, for example a coffee cup, where you'd normally look for fingerprints or DNA (or at least I would )..
