Season 6 had a weak start, but the last 3 episodes (since Gum Drops) all made a very good impression on me.
This episode started out with a big shootout. On Miami i'd find it irritating, but we hardly see scenes like this in Vegas, so it felt pretty refreshing. I am liking Sofia more and more, something I didn't expect at all, last year. She makes a good impression on me as a detective. Louise Lombard and Paul Guilfoyle both were really good in this episode.
There was also an ethical issue, about racial differences. I mostly like episodes with that kind of layer.
I'm looking forward to part 2!
by the way, I noticed that Danny Cannon was sloppy in this episode. There were two scenes where an actor stood in a totally different position than in the next shot. One was Sara's nose picking scene. She had her arms down her body, when Nick made the comment about the nose picking. Then we see a shot of her with her finger down her nose. That can't be. Not much later, Brass is sitting on the couch with Sofia. We see a shot of Sofia looking in front of her. Next shot from the other side, she's looking to the ground. A bit sloppy for a director that did so many episodes and even has a movie in the theatres right now.
