My mom says she's seen it since about the time that Sarah came on the show. Like you could kind of tell that they had a history. I didn't see it. But then she tends to be a bit more observant.

No I don't think it can be since then, because he turned her down all those times, and she got another boyfriend Hank. I think it was probably after Grave Danger, they probably figured that life is precious and that you can die any second.

That could be possible. Maybe Grissom realised that life was too short to miss the chances you get...so he decided to respond to Sara

I think it happened after either Committed (where Sara almost got killed) or Grave Danger. Grissom and Sara both lighted up from season 6 on, so I think it's before season 6 started.

we know they have some sort of history because at one point she mentions that hes the reason she came to vegas (dont ask me when, i dont remember and i dont have the time to look it up). they knew each other before she joined the team, we just dont know how. when the romance started, well, i dont know- dont really care either, because i dont like this turn of events...but i will just have to deal with it, because i am still fond of the rest of the show- i just hope it stays crime-focussed rather than relationship-focussed.

I don't think that it will be relationship focused at all. I think we might get the occasional Sweeps episode. Maybe just like they dealed with Warrick's marriage in season 6 (though that could have been more, if you ask me). I also wouldn't like it if it would be too focused on that, cause I love CSI for it's subtility.

I've just seen this episode. And talk about BIG MISTAKE. I'm delighted Brass didn't die, but Sara and Grissom... I love both characters but it just doesn't work when they make the relationship between two characters too explicit. Hints are fine, more than that and you ruin the mystery... Look at that great show Frasier for instance. It went on for something like 13 years, but they finally put Daphne and Niles together and ruined it, people stopped watching and the show was cancelled soon after. So I fear CSI's days are numbered... What on earth was Grissom wearing too???

I don't want to see grissom and sara together and am very upset about the last ep.... I'm a nick/sara fan, i just don't think grissom and sara would be good together.

The relationship definitely started in the episode with the ice rink, where Sara says, "Since when are you interested in beauty?" And Grissom replies, "Since I met you." I think it was one of the early episodes of the second season, or a late episode in the first season.
The thing is, the produces have been teasing us with this relationship four three seasons, at least. There would be HORDES of angry fans if they didn't reward the audience for their patience. What I'm worried about is the possibility of Grissom's retirement due to the fact that he has found fulfillment now. Grissom is the guy I can most relate to in CSI, and I don't want the relationship to affect his work!

Ditto, LOL. I've read somewhere or other that William Petersen's contract is for seven years. And if you believe everything you read online, it sounds unlikely that it will be renewed. But I still think they should have left *that* scene [you know the one] until the the last episode!

Ack! I seriously will cry if he leaves the show. He's my hero. One of he few characters on television that wins every battle with intelligence, rather than violence.

Indeed. Grissom is a classic character, like Sherlock Holmes or Mr. Spock. Or Hamlet of course. Even if WP no longer plays him, you kind of feel he ought to come back eventually...
I'm trying to think if that has ever happened though, a major character created exclusively for TV (or film) coming back played by someone else? Surely it has, though off the top of my head I can't think of anyone.

CSIFiles stated that William Petersen won't appear in a few episodes this season (like 2 or 3) because he'll be doing a play. But we don't know wether he'll be there for season 8. I hope so, but he stated that doing TV is heavy for him...he wants to be in the theatre. If he and Jorja Fox both left, I'd defenitely stop watching.
You think that the relationship actually started there. No way, that is 4 years ago. Sara hadn't even asked Grissom out by the end of season 3.

That right there took them to a higher level of their relationship. That promoted her above the rank of "friend," made her more special to him than any other CSI.
They were hestitant to act upon it, of course, because work always came first with Grissom and Sara! It wasn't until that episode with Grissom's soliloquy (sp?) that Grissom lamented that time was so short, and his relationship was too complicated.
