Ex-marine, has problems making relationships with women (seems to be changing last episode of the series) as his wife died in the towers on 9/11, not sure what he did in the police department before joining CSI, has numerous problems with Internal Affairs, partly down to his team

er... what i know of him is that he seems to always be sometimes hard on danny; making them seem like a father scolding a rebellious teenage boy.

I like Mac Taylor most of the characters from CSI: NY. He seems very down to earth and has a very nice personality. No arrogance at all. I have been questioning myself why he would be this way towards Danny. I think he just wants the best for Danny, because he knows that he can do better. He just doesn't like to see him screw up. And he had all right to act that way towards him. He is more realistic than Grissom and Horatio, who constantly cover up if one of their CSI's screw up. I actually like that about Mac.

Mac's another of my faves from CSI NY, and i have to admit he is goodlooking, he's just a really cool character and as you said he's down to earth. But i think the reason Mac is sometimes hard on Danny is because he cares about him, and he values his friendship with him, and i get the impression that Danny see's Mac as a kind've father figure. Cause didn't Danny say that his father wasn't really there for him. So maybe in away Mac has filed in that void. That's my opinion anyway.

To be honest, I think Mac lookes like a turtle. But my mom is crazy about him. She just luuuuves him. But I do think Mac is the best teamleader of the three (Griss, H and Mac). Sometimes I like him, sometimes I do not. Depends on how he acts towards Danny.

I love Mac. He's changed a lot since we've seen him in Season One, and MIA-NYC. He was hard on Danny in season one, but his whole attidue towards his team has changed in Season Two. He's more laid back and down to earth, which I love!

I liked him more in season one. He is too laid back right now, like he lacks depth.

I guess as the season progresses we might get to see more of the Mac from Season One.

Let's hope so. Though I liked him in Grand Murder at Central Station.
