Members of the RPG can discuss the setting where they want to play the RPG here. Questions that need to be answered: - Which city?
- Which shift (day/night/swing)
- ...

Just wondering, I see that people chose characters from the show. Wouldn't it be much more fun if everyone made up characters of their own. We also wouldn't be limited to just these three cities but pick any place we want (not to mention the continuity problems it would generate mixing characters from all three shows into one team, how will you account for that?). Just some mindless rambling on my behalf.
On other thing, I noticed sub-forums for storylines in a lab and on a crime scene. In my eyes this would get complex as it's possible to switch back from scene to lab and back all the time in an investigation. You would have to jump between subforums all the time. I think it might be confusing. An alternative approach would be to make those two into 1 subforum and simply start posting in a thread for the current case, for instance "Crimelab RPG #1 - Catchy title here - Chapter 1" and close threads when they become too long, opening a new chapter, or even cutting of chapters at 'chapter points' for instance when the initial field work is done.
Just some idea's of mine, perhaps I'm just too indoctrinated from other (non CSI) online RPGs I have played.
Btw, I do think it's a good idea to have this subforum Private Life, it gives you a great opportunity to expand your character outside an current investigation, giving it more depth and let others know more about it, which brings me back to the point of creating characters of your own. The show characters (at least the Vegas ones) have a some background already which you really can't change, it limits you in the freedom of your character. Again I advocate own characters, those can of course me mirrored to some event to existing characters (like creating a female work-a-holic CSI who's a bit of a geek and a loner), but it will give you soooo much more freedom in writing.
Ahum well, enough for my midnight ramblings, I should go to sleep now. Again, these are just thought of mine, if everyone now thinks 'Drop dead Fogeltje', so be it, I'm just making suggestions but I think this is a democratic board and it should be done the way the majority wants it.

Just wondering, I see that people chose characters from the show. Wouldn't it be much more fun if everyone made up characters of their own. People have the option to create original characters. It's just that no one has used this opportunity yet. On other thing, I noticed sub-forums for storylines in a lab and on a crime scene. [...] An alternative approach would be to make those two into 1 subforum and simply start posting in a thread for the current case [...] That seems like a good idea as well, but I think it would be limited to have only thread for a storyline. In the RPGs I played we had different threads for different storylines. Just like there are usually 2 cases in a CSI episode, and sometimes a continuing storyline through different episodes, like Grissom's deafness. Btw, I do think it's a good idea to have this subforum Private Life, it gives you a great opportunity to expand your character outside an current investigation, giving it more depth and let others know more about it. If we make the storyline subforums into one, I think we shouldn't leave the private life forum out. Threads in someones private life, could also be created in this forum.

Perhaps make 'Private Life' a subforum of the storyline forum? To prevent cluttering it would be easier to keep them seperated somehow in my opinion.

I think a seperate thread is better for private life like aidoann said as parts of this could be quite large like in episodes, Kathrine and her father, warrick and his gambling, mac and getting over his wife etc etc etc

I'm with bobbydee on this one. And back to the setting issue. I think if we were sticking to show locals NY is good cause there are so many presincts. If we go with somewhere else I recommend Detroit, LA, Honolulu, or Toronto.

If we have collected more suggestions, I'll make a poll where everyone can vote for the setting.
