Hello every one here @ crimelab! 2 new ones, enjoy!!
“Would you come home to Dallas for Christmas with me?” Nick asked smiling.
“I would love to” Sara replied and leaned up to kiss him.
EARLIER THAT WEEK
“Gris can I talk to you for a moment?” Nick asked his supervisor as they walked from the break room.
“Yeah sure” Gris replied.
“Its about the Christmas holidays” Nick said as they turned a corner.
“You want to know if you and Sara can both have time off?” Grissom replied with a smirk on his face.
Once again Nick was shocked, now apparently the bug man with no people skills was a mind reader.
“I’ll take that look on your face to mean yes, and yes you both have ten days off starting on the 20th” Grissom said.
“Ten days? I was just going to ask for a few days” Nick said bewildered.
“You and Sara deserve a good break, and if the amount of vacation time you both have owing is any indication, you both need a break” Grissom replied as he unlocked his Denali with the remote on his key chain.
Nick hopped in the passenger’s side of the car as Grissom started the engine, “plus Catherine said you had a little something up your sleeve,” Gris added and Nick just chuckled and thought to himself Only Catherine.
“So are you really gonna do it?” Rick asked Nick as they sat in the break room.
“Yeah” Nick said positively gushing.
“I’m happy for the both of you” Rick smiled.
“So am I” Cath added from the other side of the table.
“Me 3” Nick said taking a bite of his apple.
“So do you know how you are going to do it?” Rick asked as he put his feet up on the chair next to him.
“I’ve got it all planned out, and Cath helped” Nick said giving Cath a wink.
“She did? Why couldn’t I help?” Rick said pouting playfully.
“Well if you wanted to ask Grissom to give me and Sara Ten days off you should have told me sooner and you could have helped” Nick said smiling as Rick’s jaw dropped.
“You get Ten days off?” Rick said wide-eyed.
“Sure do” Nick replied chuckling.
“That’s SO not fair” Rick whined.
“What’s not fair?” Sara said walking into the room.
Rick was about to answer when Nick looked at him and slightly shook his head.
“Um… Nick’s football team gets an early pick in the draft” Warrick lied out his ass.
It was times like this Nick was happy Sara knew nothing about football.
“Oh, ok” Sara said as she turned her back to get some coffee.
Nick mouthed the words “thanks” to Rick who just nodded.
“Well I don’t know about you guys but Rick and I have work to do, so we’ll catch you later” Cath said as she looked at Rick.
Rick gave her a confused look, he knew that they had closed their case, but when Cath motioned between Nick and Sara Rick got the message.
“Yeah, we’ll see you guys later” he said as he and Cath walked out of the room.
“So are you going to tell me what isn’t fair because I know that the football draft isn’t happening any time soon” Sara said chuckling as she brought her coffee to the table and looked at the stunned expression on Nick’s face.
Nick remained silent trying to think up an excuse.
“After living with you and your football obsession for a few months a girl learns a few things” Sara said as she took a sip of her coffee and silently thanked Greg for his blue Hawaiian.
“Like about when the draft is?” Nick said thinking out loud.
“No, about the wonders of tight pants on guys” Sara said grinning.
“Well seeing as you are going to take that attitude, I’m not going to tell you what wasn’t fair,” Nick said grinning to himself.
“That’s not fair” Sara whined.
“Life isn’t fair Sar” Nick said chuckling.
“Nicky” Sara said trying the puppy dog eyes approach.
“Not going to work,” Nick said having to look away, coz truth me told, those eyes could make him run around the lab naked if she asked.
“Well” Sara poked her tongue out.
“Mature Hun” Nick said as he also poked his tongue out.
“Tongue’s normally stay in one’s mouth” Greg muttered as he walked in on the two poking their tongues out at each other.
“Or in someone else’s” Nick said giving Sara a wink.
Sara blushed and Greg laughed.
“So Rick, how’s things,” Sara asked as she walked into the locker room where Warrick was sitting.
“Yeah good, how’s things with you and Nick?” he asked smiling.
“Good,” Sara said blushing, “so what were you and Nick talking about in the break room earlier?” Sara asked trying to find out what Nick was doing.
“Football” Warrick said as if it was the mos obvious thing in the world.
“The draft isn’t for a while though, and seeing as the pick’s are given on where team finish on the ladder how could you know who gets the first picks when the ladder isn’t finalised yet?” Sara said feeling very proud of her secretly acquired knowledge.
“Ahhhh, I thought you didn’t know anything about football?” Rick asked as he nervously rubbed the back of his neck.
“That seems to be a common thought amongst the guys in this lab” Sara smiled, she was happy that she was making Warrick squirm, maybe he would give up what he and Nick were talking about.
“So what were you really talking about?” Sara asked once more.
“Football Hun, we told you” Nick said smiling as he walked into the locker room. He gave Sara a wink as she crossed her arms over her chest in a silent protest. Rick chuckled lightly but soon stopped when Sara glared at him.
“I’ve got to go,” and with that Rick walked out with Nick chuckling.
“That glare could make a grown man cry sidle” Nick said as he took a step closer to Sara.
“I nearly had it out of him and then you show up, Argh your timing is amazing sometimes” Sara said still trying to play angry. But Nick’s closing presence was making it very hard.
“I’m good like that,” Nick said as he took another step closer.
“Why doesn’t my glare work on you?” Sara said her last try at faking angry was slipping through her fingers as Nick took another step closer and was at an arms length.
“Its more of a turn on then anything sidle, its just plain hot” Nick replied.
“If you weren’t so cute I’d hit you,” Sara said as she smiled.
Nick closed the distance between then and kissed Sara. They stumbled blindly backwards until Sara felt her back hit the lockers. Nick pressed her firmly into them. Their hips grinding together, Sara let out a seductive moan that made Nick’s spine tingle. When they broke the kiss both were grinning like fools.
“I’m driving” Sara said as she grabbed the keys that Nick was holding out of his hands.
He didn’t argue, sitting, let alone driving, with the situation in his jeans at the moment wasn’t going to be pleasant. Sara quickly walked out of the break room with Nick in toe. They got a few smirks from the lab techs at their speed to go home, not to mention their ruffled appearances.

“Nick, would you mind getting a move on?” I hurriedly tied my boots, and began pulling on my Forensics wind-breaker.. “Nick… Grissom’s gonna have your….” I interrupted her “ I know Sara….I’m hurrying…” Ya see, Sara is a good CSI, but she can get slightly irritating..
We had another case.
These cases were the saddest. A sixteen year old girl had been killed in small suburban house in North Vegas.
Sara impatiently tapped the toe of her black boots…. “Alright, Alright…I’m coming”
Sara decided that I took too many chances when I was the one driving, and she didn’t want to be the one autopsying my body. So instead of arguing with her, and being given the silent treatment over the entire case, I left her to drive, and I quietly accepted the passenger seat.
“Now Nick,” Sara kept driving, and looking at the road. “ I’m going to warn you, this is going to possibly the hardest case you’ve ever had to deal with…”
“ Come on Sara, it can’t be that bad , I mean you’ve…” “Seen the cases you’ve worked? Yeah, Nick I’ve only been your partner for almost ever case you’ve ever worked on in Vegas.”
“ I’m telling you….Just….Just keep your cool, ok? I don’t want you loosing it.”
“ Trust me Sara, I never loose my cool”
Looking back on that day now, I realise, I’m not as tough as I thought I was…
I guess people are only meant for a certain level of homicides… Some are easier to handle than others…
I guess I wasn’t made to handle these types of cases.
I guess…
Sara deftly pulled the Taurus into the parking space in front of the little house.
“Well, here we are…Now remember Nick…” “I know, I know, don’t loose my cool”
I opened the door, and was greeted by a semi-sweet smell. Rather feminine, and kind of……well…… intoxicating..
I walked into the bed room, and the scent changed from intoxicating, to nauseating.
The metallic smell of blood mixed with the feministic perfume.
Every time I think of it, I can still smell it… It’s a haunting fragrance. A fragrance of Innocence, cut down before it even had chance to find a first love. A fragrance of utter,
And complete hatred. A smell, that as long as I live, I will never forget.
The sight alone was enough to make a grown man loose his cool…Even I, Nick Stokes,
Was about to officially loose it…
This thought, I cannot get it out of my head! That sight…A sight so haunting, not even The calming words of Catherine Willows, can get it out of my head.
I never want to see a sight…..so terrible, that it stays in my head like that again.
The terrible sight that greeted me, was of a girl, who looked no older than fifteen, Laying crossways on the otherwise neatly made queen bed. Crimson blood was Creating continually growing river of blood on the lavender comforter.
I guess I was staring at the vic, because I was then surprised by the slim hand of Sara Sidle, “ Nick?” She shook my shoulder. “ Nick, are you alright?”
I shook myself out of slight daze, at the horror of the cruelty that some cold-hearted criminal Would commit against a seemingly innocent high school girl…
It may have been --what seems like-- a long time ago, but I still can’t help seeing that sight every single time I shut my eyes…That sight’s so haunting, I can’t stop seeing it.
“Nick, did you want me to process the bedroom so you….”
I shook my head. “ No, I’m fine Sara.”
Or so I thought
