Sheldon was about to start the autopsy on Brian's victim when his phone rang. He sighed and answered it. He listened to Rhia as she explained what she and Brian had found out, and where it was.
"I'll be there soon," he said and hung up. He instructed one of the employees to return the body to storage, explaining that he would do the autopsy when he returned.
The traffic was less than ideal as he made his way to the location Rhia had told him about, and she and Brian were already there when he arrived.
"What's going on?" he asked as he approached them. He caught sight of the man in the back seat of their car and cast them both a curious glance.

Brian and Rhia had just gotten out of his car when Sheldon pulled up. Brian brought him up to speed by the time the police backup units arrived. Brian pulled Mr. Rively out of the car and brought him up to the barn, where he was unhandcuffed so he could open the padlock.
The key turned with a smart click, and the man took down the padlock and chain that had locked the barn. Brian wrinkled his nose. There was a sharp odor in the air.
"Sheldon?" Brian asked, a worried look on his face. "It smells like there may be more than one body in here." Brian hesitated before opening the door...

Rhia quickly pulled her scarf above mouth and nose. The smell was horrible. Fighting against vomiting, she decisivly pushed the door open, gesturing two officers to keep Mr. Rively under control. The big door was made of iron and opened slowly. The smell was getting worse when she took two steps forward. It was not Sheldon's reaction she feared - it was her own. Seeing one dead body she was used to, but how many would be there? Closing her eyes she took a deep breath. It didn't matter anyway. Rhia opened them again to see nothing.
"It's pitchblack in here...", she muttered, searching her pockets for the flashlight. "Didn't you say it was open?", she called back loudly, but the scarf made it sound like a whisper.
Mr. Rively nodded his head. "There's another door on the other side, then you enter the Holy Clearing..."
Rhia put on her flashlight to discover some blood drops on the stone floor. "Freeze!", she said to the officers following her. Then she put out a yellow marker to mark the spot.

Sheldon followed Rhia as they entered the barn, and immediatly the scent hit him. He sighed, audibly.
"They've been here awhile," he said.

Brian's heart sank deeper than it ever had on a case.
"A while? The note Reaper left Mr. Rively was new... declaring there was new proof. If these bodies have been here a while, it means this has been going on longer... he's just picked up the pace recently. There's no telling when he started," Brian groaned.
He shouted back to Mr. Rively, "Is there a power switch for the barn?"
"No, we only use candles!" Came back the reply.
Brian gave Sheldon an apologetic look, and took out his flashlight. When the beam of light shone on a pile of bodies... and another... and another... Brian sank to his knees, overwhelmed. He heard one of the officers run out behind him and vomit.
Hot tears in his eyes, Brian looked over at Rhia without getting up. "Rhia... this is his one and only body dump. The only reason we picked up the bodies this morning is because he didn't have time to safely transport them -- they were too far away." The tears came easier now, leaving visible trails down his face. "And these are all missing persons or homeless people... which is why we didn't get any reports," Brian hypothesized. "...oh my God. He'll be back. That son of a bitch will be back with more. He really DOES think he's the Chosen One."
Brian clenched his fists, fighting back the hot tears that were now flowing freely from his tightly shut eyes.

Rhia was standing behind Brian, staring at all the bodies in disbelief. She stopped breathing and only noticed when she got dizzy. She knew she mustn't get emotionally involved, but when she saw the body of a pregnant woman, she put her hands to a fist and clenched her teeth.
"Son of a bitch. He'll pay for it.", she exclaimed icily and took a step closer to Brian. Carefully she put a hand on his shoulder. Her eyes were glistering, but she wouldn't allow the tears to flow freely now. "We need to work. This is the only way, we can get him. The police will start the manhunt as soon as possible. I'll call the Sheriff immediately."
With these words Rhia had pulled out her mobile and dialled a number. She explained everything in a calm voice, unaware that it was her own one. Then she dialled another number. "Hey Zora, it's Rhia. Take everyone you find in the lab and come to this place..." she told her an address. "It's mass murder - be prepared!" She let the phone snap shot and put her hand forth to help Brian get up.
"C'mon. We have to start! The others will come soon, too...." Fighting back the urge to vomit, she pulled the knot of her scarf tighter and took a step forward. She tried to estimate the number of bodies - 20? 30? With every step another one was enlightened. Suddenly she stopped short, her breath getting heavier. There was a small child lying on the floor. Her grip around the flashlight loosened and it fell to the floor.
No, please, no! This can't be real

As Zora pulled up to the scene she wondered if it was as bad as the rumors had said. When she got the call the dispatch had said it was a body dump. Was it true? What would it be like? Could Zora handle it? Her thoughts were scrambled and honestly she was nervous. Seeing one body or even two or three was bad enough but how many were there? Taking a deep breath Zora opened her door and stepped out into the cold day. "I can do this." she whispered to herself hoping she was right.

Brian took out lights from the back of Zora's SUV, and set them up inside the barn. He solemnly began snapping photos. The camera felt heavier with each snapshot of the gruesome scene before him.
"Sheldon... you have the unfortunate job of pronouncing all of them before we can touch them. I'm sure Mr. Irving, aka Reaper, is the murderer, but we'll need the evidence to ensure he gets justice," Brian said through clenched teeth. He heard more police backup units arriving to secure the perimeter for Reaper's return. "And someone bring Mr. Rively in here! I think he ought to see just what he's been preaching all these years to his cult."

With shaking fingers Rhia picked up her flashlight again. She still didn't trust her eyes. A child. She pressed her eyes together to banish that picture from her mind. Turning around on her heel, she head for the exit from this hell. After getting out of the barn, she ran to a nearby bush and was sick. Some minutes later she returned to the crime scene with shaky legs and a chewing gum. Without saying anything she helped Brian taking photos.
When they hear footsteps behind them and arguing voices she turned around. Suddenly the voice fell silent. Rhia looked at Mr. Rively becoming pale and stopping breathing.
"Oh my - Good Lord. No, no...", Mr. Irving collapsed on the floor. The police officers dragged him back out.

"Ok, Rhia, let's look for evidence outside the barn, and let Sheldon get to work," Brian said, in a defeated tone.
He wasn't sure if they'd find anything useful, but he wanted her to have some fresh air.
He was looking around on the ground outside the barn when he noticed that next to a side door, the grass was flattened in a familiar pattern. "Hey, Rhia, looks like this is where he'd park a vehicle. And if we follow it back a ways.... yep! He'd drive up this way.... park here.... turn around here.... and drive back the way he came." Brian used his flashlight to show her the path that Reaper's vehicle would take.
"I wonder when he'll show up. He won't even be able to see the lights and police cars if he comes from this direction. And, he's obviously a creature of habit, so it's only a matter of time, right?"
Sighing, Brian sat down in the grass and looked up at the moon. At least something was still normal tonight, he thought.

Gladly Rhia followed Brian outside. The cool air hit her right in the face, but she inhaled deeply until she had to cough. She examined the tracks with Brian and put her head to one side.
"They look fresh...he must've been here shortly before we came here...maybe he even watched us...", at this very thought, Rhia shivered. She sank down close to Brian, hugging her knees and putting her chin on top of them.
"I can never believe what people are capable of...", she said quietly staring down to the grass.

Zora kept taking deep breathes and thought she may pass out. When she saw Brian and Rhia walk outside she thought it may be best for her to follow their lead. She nodded at them and then headed the other way around the barn so as not to disturb their work. Starting slowly she began walking the perimeter keeping her eyes open for anything out of place.

Sheldon began going though the piles of bodies. Pile after pile, he had to go through every body and make his preliminary observations, then get them ready to be shipped off to the morgue. The worst thing was, with every pile, a new one came out of the darkness of the barn.
He was on the last pile when he heard it, a whimper. He thought it was his ears playing tricks on him in the stunned silence that surrounded him, but then he heard it again. It was coming from behind the pile of bodies.
"Brian!" Sheldon called out. "Rhia! I need your help."

When Rhia heard Sheldon's cry, she jumped up immediately drawing her gun in one motion. She ignored the dizziness from the sudden move and stormed inside, Brian at her heel. Trying to run as fast as possible without destroying any evidence, it took her about five minutes to reach the farther end. She stopped short in front of Sheldon, when she noticed noone else around and put away her gun.
"What's up, Sheldon?", she asked, when she suddenly heard a whimper. She grabbed the flashlight and followed the noise. Finally she found a small child lying on the floor. She gasped in horror. There was blood all over the baby, she guessed it was about a year.
"No...", Rhia whispered, getting to her knees. But when she felt the pulse, she sighed out of relief. "I'll get her to the paramedics. They won't come in here anyway...", she said, carefully grabbing the baby and carrying her outside.

When Zora saw Rhia carrying a small child out of the barn she gasped. The poor thing was covered in blood put appeared to be alive. "Oh my God." she gasped. "What kind of monster are we looking for?"
