Hey Guys
This story is a work in progress, and its my first story based on CSI, so things might not be up to scratch. I'd like to thank my friend Fruitbat for being a great beta reader, with out her this fic wouldn't have got started.
So I thought that I might share it with you and let you judge it.

Ok on to the fic:
Catch me when I fall
Chapter One
Melissa Beattie, a 23-year-old brunette woman, stood gazing out of the window and at the New York skyline. She could hardly believe that her three-month probation period was coming to an end. She had accomplished a lot in the three months, breaking her first case, making new friends, and slowly finding her way around down town Manhattan, with a little extra help from Danny Messer.
She smiled. Danny Messer was a tall, handsome and not to mention a very sarcastic crimanalist. Yet behind his sarcasm dirty blonde hair, and pale blue eyes Danny was a hard worker, always the first one there and the last one to leave, not to mention a good friend and listener, well when he wanted to be anyway.
She shivered slightly as the air-conditioning kicked in. That was another thing she was getting used to the New York summer. She sighed as she looked at her watch, a small smiled escaped her lips, only half an hour left and she could go home, but something told her that that half an hour would easily turn into an hour.
“Mel, the results are in” she turned away from the window as Stella Bonasera her partner in crime came rushing up to her, holding the piece of paper that Melissa had been waiting for. Melissa looked hopeful as Stella handed her the paper,
“It’s not a match,” Stella stated as Melissa took the paper from the Detective’s hand and scanned the results.
“But he confessed to the murder,” Melissa replied her voice shuddered with anger, Stella sighed heavily as she retrieved the paper,
“Sometimes a confession isn’t enough” the older brunette replied as she placed the results into the brown case file she was carrying, Melissa sighed in frustration Stella gave her a reassuring smile.
“I’ll get these to Mac” she patted the file “ Good work today” with one final smile, the detective turned on her heel and set off walking in the direction of Mac Taylor’s office. Melissa sighed just the simple mention of her supervisor’s name sent her weak at the knees.
She knew it was just a stupid crush and that she would properly get over it within the next week or so. But then that’s what she’d told herself when she first met him, and that was three months ago.
She sighed heavily and rubbed her aching temples, her mind screaming at her to get some rest, but she couldn’t rest, she couldn’t knowing that that creep was going to walk free because the evidence proved otherwise. Fifteen minuets was all she had, but fifteen minuets was all she needed, surly she could find something within that space of time, like Mac always told her Everything’s connected, you just have to find out how.
