DISCLAIMER: I do not own anything related to CSI: NY.
A/N: Feeling in a Flack/Aiden mood again! LOL another short Flack/Aiden fanfic by me.
Flack entered the warm, cozy diner. The smell of bacon and coffee entered his lungs. It was snowing on that Sunday morning in New York and the temperature was probably below zero. He shook his head to get rid of the snow flakes in his black hair. He then removed his coat, hung it on the chair behind him and sat down.
A waitress passed him the menu and he studied it intently. He decided on having bacon with eggs, a blueberry muffin and a cup of steaming coffee; the perfect breakfast on a cold, Sunday morning.
As he was waiting for his food to arrive, he looked around the diner; a habit that stuck with him ever since he was a little boy. He loved observing his environment and the people around him.
His bright blue eyes trailed lazily over to the corner of the diner not far from his table and what he saw made him froze because right there was Aiden Burn, eating alone.
Though Aiden’s his colleague and works with him almost everyday, he never really got the chance to ask her out for a date; much less ask her for her cell phone number. If he needed to contact her, he does that through Stella, Mac or Danny.
Flack tried hard to not stare at Aiden but he failed miserably.
He noticed everything about her. He noticed how her long, wavy, dark brown hair bounced softly every time she laughed. He noticed how her dark brown eyes always twinkled with amusement. He noticed how rosy her cheeks would get if she’s embarrassed. He noticed how the clothes she wore every time made her look gorgeous. He noticed how her full lips would pout every time she concentrates on something.
Like today, Aiden looked especially beautiful. Her hair was let loose in soft, wavy curls. Her make-up was simple. She was wearing a dark green turtleneck sweater and a pair of (possibly) low-slung hip-huggers. On her feet she wore a pair of boots. The jacket she was wearing outdoors was wrapped up in her arms.
Suddenly Aiden turned to Flack’s direction and smiled at him. Flack waved back and he felt his cheeks burning.
So much for being smooth, he thought.
Suddenly Aiden got up and walked towards Flack’s table. Flack panicked. Was she going to tell him off?
“Hey Flack,” said Aiden, stopping in front of his table and sitting down across from him. She clasped her hands together on top of the table.
“Hey,” he said back.
“Funny seeing you here.”
“Yeah, well, I had the craving for something… wholesome.”
“Yeah me too.”
Complete silence followed suit after that. Flack felt awkward.
“Guess I better go now,” said Aiden, getting up.
“Yeah…”
“I’ll see you around?”
“Yeah.”
“Ok then… bye.”
Flack waved at her. God, he felt like an idiot! A chance to ask for her number and also to ask her out and he blew it with his lame conversation skills. He felt like banging his head on the table. Instead, he cursed himself.
Suddenly the waitress came by with his food. He paid for his food and was about to dig in when he noticed a piece of paper on the table where Aiden’s hands were. He probably felt too embarrassed with his conversation with Aiden to even notice it.
He picked it up and unfolded the paper. He recognized Aiden’s handwriting instantly. In it she wrote:
Free tonight for a date? Call me.
Below that message she left him her cell phone number.
Flack smiled to himself. He took out his cell phone and dialed the number Aiden wrote down for him.
“Aiden? It’s Flack. Yeah, I’m free tonight.”
