Just for a random starter thread of off-topicness, I wondered what people thought of the series and the new book.
I'm not a raving fan, but I did enjoy the books. I have yet to read the newest one although several of my friends have read it already. I think that's a waste; to read the book so quickly after waiting so long for its release. Rowling must have worked so hard, and then to have it gobbled up to quick... I mean, it's intimidating.
Oh well, I believe she is a talented writer, and the series is very unique!

I love Harry Potter. Both the books and the movies. Though I think it's a bit over-hyped. I can't see myself waiting in line for hours at midnight to get my copy. I just pre-ordered mine on the Internet.
I've already finished the book. It is easy to read and I'm a fast reader. I might read it again in the future.
I'd like everybody who has already read it not to put spoilers in this topic, since not everyone has read it yet. I'll create a special topic where people can discuss The Half Blood Prince. And all other HP can be discussed here.

haha, I waited in line until midnight to get my copy. Well, I did with The Order of The Pheonix willingly. With Half-Blood Prince, I was bored, so I went to the book party with my cousin. I guess a book party isn't as monotonous as just standing in line, but we got there at like eleven at night, so actually, we were in line most of the time

I like Harry Potter. Not as much as I used to, but I still like it. Few years ago I was quite addicted to it (although I'm more addicted to CSI now) and with the release of the Dutch translation of Order of the Phoenix (here at midnight, 22nd of November, my birthday), my dad gave me tickets to go to the release of the translation in Rotterdam, at Rotterdam central station, where they had 'copied' platform 9 3/4 for the release. That was cool. Now, I'm just enjoying the movies and books but I'm not the girl that's too addicted to it anymore.

I really love the books, I do. They are just gorgeus. And everytime I reread one of them I find something new... for example about some of the ships...there are some clues about them in the older books as well, not only in the recent ones. d'you get my point? Don't know if I do myself but I find it's never boring to read them again and again... The movies are okay... If you've read the books you've got your own imagination of all the places, the characters, everything...so sometimes the films are a bit disturbing for me...but in general they are well made...so I'm looking forward to the next movie:)
